my first polyvore. by orange

I recently fell across polyvore.  When it comes to fashion, you can find just about everything there!  And you can build your own collages.  Kind of reminds me of back in the day when I used to cut pictures, letters, words out of magazines and paste them in a variety of directions on a poster board - call it collage art and hang it up in my room.  Well today I tried my hand at my first polyvore collage - see below.

Just like Violet recently had a plan, I too had a plan for this post.  Over the "taxes are done" celebration weekend, the husband and I went on a road trip to nearby Leavenworth and took a hike with our doggies.  Since we went with a couple...there happened to be 5 dogs on this hike up the mountain.  With all the dogs together, off-leash it looked like a scene out of Homeward Bound.  Of course I took a lot of photos - which I had planned to post.  However, this morning to my dismay - I could not find my camera.  So...once I find my camera...you will see pictures.

So, in thinking about what to post I thought - shoes.  I have shoes on the mind with the change in seasons (well, it started to change in Seattle a couple weeks ago but now we seem to be back to rainy) and with the big Warehouse sale coming up this Friday for online shoes. 

Currently, I'm lusting over some nude tones.  For summer, I think some platform heels or wedges in nude/beige would be perfect to add some height, but hopefully not too much discomfort.  Here's some my favorites that I've seen out and about:

Shoe Briefcase. by orange

Who knew that some shoes are delivered mission impossible style in a briefcase? I didn't know this until last Friday.

One of my co-workers was recently perusing thru some magazines, when she saw "5 inch heels; heel in the shape of the Empire State Building." There was a picture besides the bold statement, she liked what she saw so she ordered a pair. A week or so passes and a briefcase arrives.
 

Unfortunately, she wasn't expecting the glitz on the heel so she is returning them.  My first question was, can you keep the briefcase?

I think I'm a jewelry junkie.  Could also possibly be a shoe junkie as well?  One of my co-workers recently confessed to have 80 pairs of shoes...I don't know if I'm there yet.  My post aspiration tonight was to talk about my love of mixing grey and gold.  While looking for some photos of the gold and grey combination, I came across some very pretty gold jewelry.  So...change of heart...the post is a compilation of some of my most favorite things...bracelets, rings, earrings and necklaces.

while browsing i also saw these FUN shoes. pink on the bottom - gold studs - love it! if i had a money tree, i would purchase these. i might even display them in my house as a decorative item...

i just know i would not wear them enough to justify the price.

in the nude. by orange

with fall upon us, peep toe shoes hibernate and boots come out to play. while browsing for boots i've come across a lot of nude shoes that strike my fancy. now i've always thought - nude shoes are really only for those with tan skin. however, i'm starting to get over that and accept that the nude coloring may just be a tad darker than my skin and it'll be ok. here are some of my current nude "i die" shoes.

the summer unpack. by orange

Have you ever been told to go shopping in your own closet as a way to save money while satisfying the urge to shop? I say bull shit. Sure you can save some money, but I don't have a wardrobe big enough where I find re-discoveries and/or surprises of shirts and pants that I didn't know I had. Rather as I go through my closet I say, "wow I have nothing to wear...what a surprise as I thought this 15 min ago when I tried 'shopping in my closet.'" ...and I still want brand new, shiny shoes and a crisp new shirt.

The closest I have gotten to a successful end result while "shopping in my own closet" comes when unpacking summer or winter clothes. You may ask, unpacking?! With not having the closet of Alicia Silverstone in Clueless, come winter most of my summer tanks, shorts and sandals go into hibernation in the comfy tupperware bins in our guest bedroom.

With pieces of clothes sleeping the winter away, those articles tend to fade in my memory over the long cold season. Thus creating a smile on my face when pulling out the red patent leather flip flops or the dark denim true religion crop shorts. Not exactly the same as buying a new piece, however, almost there. I usually think - so happy I bought those!

Sunshine in Seattle has arrived. This summer's favorite un-pack item has to be my gold Lukas sandals by Steve Madden. What's your favorite summer sandal?

I feel downright sheepish that I did not know of this lovely brand of shoes. Jeffrey Campbell. He makes Fabulous shoes! His shoes reign from Spain and they are known for creativity in small quantities. Some of the shoes are produced in quantities less than 100 pairs! The shoe that made me fall in love with this brand might just be one of these limited quanity pairs - as I can only find them in a size 8 (deep sigh...)

One of the big upsides of dating/marrying the husband is the house we bought together. Specifically a certain closet in our house. This closet (pictured below) looks like any regular linen closet. It is in the upstairs landing, directly across from our master bedroom. Well when I saw the closet, I thought something entirely different than linens....
